Best Vodka Cocktails
Vodka is the most versatile spirit in your cabinet. Neutral by nature, it works in everything from light citrus highballs to rich coffee cocktails.
Espresso Martini
50ml vodka, 25ml Kahlúa, 25ml freshly brewed espresso (cooled). Shake vigorously with ice — the hard shake creates the foam. Strain into a coupe and garnish with three coffee beans.
Moscow Mule
50ml vodka, half a lime, 150ml ginger beer. Over ice in a copper mug. The ginger beer does most of the work — use a good one.
Cosmopolitan
40ml citrus vodka, 15ml Cointreau, 30ml cranberry juice, 15ml fresh lime. Shake, strain into a chilled martini glass, garnish with a flamed orange peel.
Vodka Sour
50ml vodka, 25ml fresh lemon juice, 20ml sugar syrup, optional egg white for foam. Shake, strain, serve on ice. Add a few drops of Angostura bitters to make it interesting.
